FINAL REFLECTION FOR WORLD LITERATURE 2020-2021

This semester was unlike any other because we had to learn and adjust in different ways. Our course was different from the beginning and I value everything I learned from it. We did a lot of work that was different from any other English class I've ever had. Something that made this course different than any other course was that it focused on what your thoughts and opinion were on certain stuff. For example, the journal entries, were something that was very new and different to me. No other class had us keep a journal and write our thoughts in it everyday. The questions for our journals were very interesting and made me actually want to write every day. I am glad I got to try out something new. I found having our very own blog meaningful. This was meaningful because we get to have a space where we can write all of our thoughts and share them with our classmates. We can also get inspired by our classmates and see what they have to say about certain topics.  The work I am most prou

LITERATURE ANALYSIS #1

The Basics  1. The novel "Blink Once" by Cylin Busby is about a boy named West who is a senior in high school that loves biking. Until one day he wakes up paralyzed in a hospital bed. He meets this girl named Olivia who is also a patient at the hospital. Olivia seems to be the only one who understands West. They become really good friends. West begins to rely more on Olivia, even more than his own friends. West gets the opportunity to consider having surgery. This surgery can possibly get him back to normal but Olivia doesn't want him to get it because she thinks West will forget about her. West ends up getting the surgery and getting better. He can now walk and talk. The first thing he wants to go do is see Olivia. Then he finds out Olivia has been in a coma for almost a year. He refuses to believe it because she has been talking to him for months. Then he finds out he has also been in a coma for months. Everything that he and Olivia had been through was not real.  2. I

HOW I READ

The thing I like some about Les Mis is how the author describes the characters personality. The author does a good job on making it seem like you know the person he is talking about. I also like how the situations are described. They are described with so much detail so you can imagine it. One technique that Victor Hugo uses to create these affects is indirect characterization. This technique says a lot about a character without them having to say anything. Setting is another technique that Victor Hugo uses that makes reading this book even better. This makes it so you can image the setting in the book. The last technique is Allusion which gives us more of an understanding of the text.

LES MIS #10

This chapter introduced a new character who is described to be a monster. He almost voted for the kings death. The way he's described is very bad which make him seem like a bad person. The Bishop thinks about people that he needs to visit .

LES MIS #9

This chapter is about Mademoiselle Baptistine writing a letter to her childhood friend. She talks about what's going on in her life and her brother. She says that her brother is a very good man. She says that he has the courage to travel into a county of robbers. She talks about how courageous and brave he is.
